Why United Foundation (where Hope Yields) is presently caring for almost 300 children in the Tharaka region of Kenya, making a difference to not only the lives of the children being sponsored, but also having an impact on their families and their communities.  This is made possible by monthly donations from Sponsors in both Denmark and Northern Ireland.

The program aims to change the living environment of the most needy children through enabling them to have access to education, monitoring their standard of health, encouraging their economic awareness and provision and yet promoting self reliance and self respect.

Each year the primary school children recieve a uniform and shoes to ensure that they are able to attend school, and receive a standard of education that will give them a hope for the future.    Each child also receives an annual medical health check and participate in a goat rearing project.  They will also receive a range of gifts which differ from year to year eg; mattresses, mosquitos nets, solar lamps, water tanks and this could vary from region to region depending on requirements.

Sponsors are kept updated two or three times a year on the progress of their sponsored child, and they are encouraged to correspond with their child.  Last year a group from Northern Ireland visited Kenya and met up with their sponsored children.
